Hussein Bakry is a multi-disciplinary professional with 12 years of experience with a foundation in finance, focused on the renewables and environment industry. He has a proven track record of leading and delivering consulting projects in waste-to-energy, recycling, industrial resource efficiency, and renewable energy. Mr. Bakry began his career in finance where he became Associate Vice President at EFG Hermes, as an equities trader catering to top international institutional investors looking to invest in MENA equity markets. He then switched to the world of development as Head of Resource Efficiency Services at Chemonics Egypt, where he led and delivered projects in waste management, sustainable agriculture and food processing, and renewable energy for international donors including the World Bank, UNIDO, AfDB, GIZ, UNDP and EBRD, as well as for the private sector. He helped introduce an industrial resource efficiency product that aids the private manufacturing sector to improve conservation in energy, water and materials, by investing in the highest impact solutions.
Mr. Bakry joins CID Consulting to lead project management activities in its Sustainability and Social Impact portfolio. Hussein Bakry received his B.A in Accounting and M.Sc. in Sustainable Development, both from the American University in Cairo.
