Projects Lead, International Cooperation Focus, Project Management Unit

The ideal candidate will work on government technical assistance projects, ensuring full project execution. The project types focus on key thematic areas, such as TVET, workforce development and gender, to name a few. The candidate will work closely with the various stakeholders of the projects, building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure progress following the workplan and to achieve the projects’ determined milestones.

 Project management and communication:

     
  • Manage daily operational communication with the project team, client, consultants, and beneficiaries regarding the projects’ progress, highlighting any issues or risks to ensure prompt response to client requirements.
  •  
  • Develop progress reports and support in the development of monthly and annual reports.
  •  
  • Prepare monthly financial forms (including Monthly Financial Review, Monthly Forecast Update) and collaborate with the Finance Department for prompt and accurate invoicing.

  • Manage the procurement process by developing requirements, identifying, and selecting suppliers, negotiating, and contracting, and managing contracts until final invoicing.

Resource management and recruitment of external consultants:

     
  • Manage the full recruitment cycle of external consultants and experts, starting with developing scopes of work, scanning candidates, shortlisting, and interviewing candidates, all the way to their successful onboarding on the project.
  •  

Quality assurance and management:

  • Monitor the implementation of scopes of work and project terms of reference including progress made, man days consumed, and alert management to issues that might arise.

Project risk management:

     
  • Forecast, identify, and promptly inform the Project Manager of all issues and potential risks that could affect the project adversely and prepare required documentation.

Technical delivery and business development:

     
  • Develop the CID relevant sections of assigned projects’ annual workplans and ensure alignment with project results.
  •  
  • Participate in technical consulting delivery on a need basis.
  •  
  • Research project management methodologies and training delivery.
  •  
  • Participate in the development of proposals to prospective clients and develop a new business out of existing clients in coordination with the Business Development team.
  •  
  • Conduct research and remain abreast of updates and trends in consulting in the development sectors of focus of CID.
  •  
  • Coach team members on the use of relevant forms and tools.
  •  
  • Participate and / or lead internal company initiatives.
     

Qualifications

·          Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or Computer Science.

·          A postgraduate degree in a related field or relevant executive development program in the field.

·        6-9 Years of experience.

·        Previous experience in leading teams is a plus.
